Leave for an hour to overnight then just. Hot soapy water and a dishcloth will be your worktop s best friend. Do not use abrasive cleaning pads avoid scouring pads and instead go for a smooth cloth and buffering cloth avoiding anything which could scratch your new worktop. Then apply plastic wrap over the top. If you re looking for a regular cleaning routine the one below is perfect.

Run enough warm tap water over a sponge to saturate it and pour three drops of liquid dish soap onto the cloth. Treat it like glass never use abrasive detergents or scouring pads. Try to give stainless steel worktops a good clean at least once a week. Apply this by filling up a spray bottle and simply spraying it onto your marble.

Use heat resistant pads for hot pans glass or ceramic heat pads should be used for placing hot pans down on your surface. Fill of a spray. Wring out the cloth and wipe over the marble worktop. Avoid chopping or placing hot objects directly on laminate countertops.

If you find that lemon juice vinegar or red wine has found its way onto your shiny new marble worktop or has splashed up on a tile then act fast and mop it up. You should also avoid any cleaning ingredients containing ammonia as this is also too harsh a chemical for a porous surface like marble. To cleaning marble worktops always use mix warm water with some natural cleaning product and apply that mixture on the marbles using a sponge or a soft cloth. Vinegar is a popular ingredient used in cleaning.

However it is highly acidic and could cause lasting damage to a marble worktop so this is a definite no no product. So how do you clean marble worktops. Clean up any spillages as soon as possible marble is porous and that means it is easily stained if you don t act quickly. It will remove the dirt and stains from the surface once you dry and rinse the area thoroughly that also without any scratches.

Clean your granite and marble worktops with a damp cloth. Do not use acid based cleaning solutions on quartz or marble as they can be damaged by them.
